ACFL Division 1: Our senior team have a very important league match this Wednesday evening, September 6th at 8.30pm in Monaduff against Abbeylara. Please support.

Lotto: The Lotto draw was held last Monday, August 28th in The Porter House, Drumlish. The Jackpot was €7,200. The numbers drawn were as follows:

There was no winner.

The Marquee In Drumlish: We held a “Thank You” night in O’Reilly’s Bar, Drumlish on Friday night last for all our volunteers at this year’s festival. We would like to thank Cathal and the staff for the hospitality and again all those who worked at the Marquee, who gave up their time to make it such a success.

All Ireland Ticket Draw: The draw for the football and hurling All Ireland final tickets was held at the lotto draw on Monday, August 28th in The Porter House, Drumlish. The winners of the hurling tickets were Paraic Brady and Micheál Joyce. The winners of the football tickets were Stephen McDermott and Paul Dowler.

U12/14 Presentation – Huge thanks to all our U12 & U14 Players, their parents, supporters, Coaches, Committee Members and everyone for helping to make our Presentation Evening such a success on a frosty, cold November evening.. there was a great atmosphere with great football from our young ladies and gentlemen. Special thanks to Finbar Meehan who made the presentation to our players after his inspiring words of encouragement. A great evening to end a great year for our U12 & U14 Players. Well done to each and everyone of you.

Lotto: The draw was held in The Porter House, Drumlish on Monday last, December 4th. The Jackpot was €8,800. Results are currently available on the club website and will be in next week’s notes. Tickets are available from the usual outlets and from any member of the executive.

All Ireland Masters: Well done to Francis Noonan and Micheál Kane who were both part of the Longford/Leitrim Masters who defeated Kildare in the All Ireland Plate final on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-11 in Kildare recently.

National Club Draw 2018: Tickets for the National Club Draw are currently available to purchase. If anyone would like to buy a ticket, please contact any member of the senior squad. Tickets cost €10.

AGM: At the meeting of the Executive on Thursday last it was decided that this year’s AGM will be held in Monaduff in early January. The exact date has yet to be decided but will be communicated once known.

St. Stephen’s Day Charity Event: The club will be holding a charity event this St. Stephen’s Day. More details will follow in next week’s notes.

Sports Capital Grant: The club received a major boost during the week when we were recipients of government’s Sports Capital Grant in aid of development works at the grounds in Monaduff. We are extremely appreciative of this and would like to thank all those involved in helping secure the grant.

Sympathy: We would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Claire Bann who was killed in the tragic accident in Drumlish during the week. Our thoughts and prayers are also with those who are injured and we wish them a speedy recovery. We also extend our sympathies to the family and friends of Fr. John Davis who was a frequent visitor to Gaigue over the years. Solas na bhFlaitheas orthu.

Latest News – 02-08-2017

Senior Championship: Our senior team are out in the third round of the championship this Saturday evening, August 5th, at 7pm in Páirc na nGaeil, Dromard against St. Mary’s, Granard. This is a do or die encounter for both sides so we wish Gary, Mike, Anthony and the squad all the best. The lads have been putting in a massive effort so it would be great to see big support out from the parish to help them across the line.

Jimmy Flynn ACFL Division 3: There is a busy week ahead for our juniors as we face Killoe in Clonee tonight (Wednesday, August 2nd) at 8.30pm and then our lads are out again on Sunday, August 6th at home to Longford Slashers at 2pm. Please support. Please note the above fixture change.

Marquee in Drumlish – Volunteer Night: We are holding a volunteer registration night this Friday night, August 4th between 8.30 and 9.30pm in Monaduff for anyone who can help steward or work behind the bar at the Marquee.

Referee Debut: Well done to clubman Kenneth Leonard who refereed his first senior championship game at the weekend. Ken took charge of the Colmcille and Granard encounter and we wish him all the best in his refereeing career.

Killoe v Longford Slashers: We held our first senior championship match on Sunday last as Killoe and Longford Slashers faced off in the second round. A massive thank you to all our volunteers who stewarded, parked cars, directed traffic and sold lotto envelopes at half time. Thanks also to Thomas Gill and his team who had Monaduff looking so well.

Water Safety & Awareness Information Evening: Annagh Sports & Lesiure Group & Longford Sub Aqua in conjunction with Dromard Healthy Club and the RNLI ( the charity that saves lives at sea) will host an information evening on Water Safety and Awareness for our community this Thursday 3rd August at 8.15pm at the Dromard GAA clubhouse.  This event is open to all the community both young and old particularly parents and teenagers. A guest speakers from the RNLI will give a presentation on the current campaign they are running which is “Respect The Water” and the speakers from Longford Sub Aqua will talk about their role in the community and the basic water safety skills each of us need to call on if you find yourself in difficulty in the water.
