Coaching Workshop

We had a brilliant coaching workshop in Monaduff on Saturday morning last. There was a fantastic turnout of coaches who came from all over the country in deplorable weather conditions. Thank you to Colm Nally, Paddy Christie & Davy Burke and our players (Sean Whelan, Kevin Whelan, Emmet Noonan, Aiden Gray, Mark Breslin, Mark Hughes, JP Farley, David Collum, Ciarán Cooney and Podge Gill) who braved the conditions! Intermediate Championship

Hard luck to Fintan, Mick, Graham and the lads on their 3-4 to 1-9 defeat in the final last Sunday. It was a cruel way to lose but congratulations to Ballymahon and we wish them the best as they represent Longford in Leinster. The club would like to sincerely thank the aforementioned management team; backroom team of Paul Dowler, Gareth Donnelly, Lorraine Corrigan and Bridie Reilly; the executive lead by Mike Mulleady and a special mention to club sponsors the Davis Brothers who sponsored a set of jerseys and a meal for the players. Thank you to our wonderful supporters who really got behind the team. It is greatly appreciated. Congratulations to Colmcille on winning the senior title. We trailed 1-2 to 0-3 at half time but battled back and lead going into injury time by a point. Martin Cassidy kicked a fabulous point after a frontal charge on Pauric Gill incredibly went unpunished but Ballymahon struck for the killer goal with time up. We wish a speedy recovery to club stalwart Cian Brady (whose early retiral was a devastating blow) after suffering a very bad knee injury and Pauric Gill (broken nose and fractured jaw). Thank you to Bridie Reilly and Dr. Derek Gallagher for tending to the injured parties. The team and scorers were as follows:

Paddy Collum; Stephen Cosgrove, Cian Brady, Paul McGee; Emmet Noonan, Gary Connell, JP Farley; Liam Lynch (0-2), David Collum; Pauric Gill (1-2), Conor Keenan, Sean Whelan; Mark Hughes (0-2), Martin Cassidy (0-3, 1f), Cian Cassidy.

Subs used: Kaelum Gill, Jamie Nertney, Mark Breslin, Aiden Gray, Podge Gill
