St Vincents Minor Football Club –

St Vincents Minor Football Club were one of the Winners of the Beko Leinster GAA Club Competition. Our Committee Members, Colin Crowe & JP Murphy were presented with GAA equipment to the value of €1,500 at the Leinster Final. Thanks to everyone in the Club for their work in achieving this, with special thanks to Enda McGahern for his great work on the application.

Family Fun Day – rescheduled for Saturday 21st July 2018 from 12noon to 4pm in Monaduff GAA Grounds.  We will have blitz’s for U-8 and U-10 and the annual Parish League for u-12 and u-14.  We will also have bouncing castles and face painting and lots more activities – Guaranteed  Fun on the day.  Please note this is a Fundraising event and your support would be greatly appreciated so we look forward to see.
Cul Camps – there are still places availalbe in Monaduff – 6th – 10th Aug. Booking can be done online. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Division 2 League: Our re-fixed Round 1 match of the league against Grattan Óg took place last Sunday afternoon in Monaduff. We came away with the two points after a hard fought win on a scoreline of 2-15 to 1-7.. The team and scorers were as follows:

Sympathy: The club would like to extend its’ sympathies to Mick Greene and his family, Brocklagh, on the death of his mother Brigid in Ardagh. We also extend our condolences to Mary McCormack and her family, Gaigue, on the recent death of her brother Tom Kearney. Solas na bhFlaitheas orthu.

U20 Championship: Our U20s were well beaten by Abbeylara/Mullinalaghta on a score line of 3-19 to 1-5 in the last round of the U20 championship on Good Friday. This concludes our involvement in the championship and we would like to thank the panel of players and management team of Cian Brady, Aiden Gray and David Collum for the effort put in

Michael Moran ACFL Division 2: The first round of the league was called off last Sunday due to a bereavement in the Grattan Óg club. We send our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. The next round is away to Cashel, this Saturday, April 7th at 7pm. Please support

Drumlish Ballinamuck Men’s Shed: The Drumlish and Ballinamuck Men’s Shed is opening this Wednesday night, April 4th at 8pm in Drumlish. Fr. Manning Gaels would like to wish the best of luck to all those involved with this great initiative as it is vitally important to combat isolation and encourage social engagement in rural communities. It would be great to see large support from the GAA community on the night.

Padraic Gearty Cup: Our Juniors were out in the Padraic Gearty Cup on Easter Monday last against Legan Sarsfields in Monaduff. Details will be in next week’s notes.

Club Captaincy: Well done to Paddy Collum who was selected as club captain again this year. Well done also to Emmett Noonan who was appointed vice captain. We wish both men the best of luck in their important roles for the coming year

Sports First Aid Course: Longford Sports Partnership are running a Sports First Aid Course on Saturday the 21st April from 10am to 5pm. If you are interested in enrolling on this course please send your details to info@longfordsports.ie

Coaching Officers Workshop & Information Night: There is a training and information night for all Club Coaching Officers on Thursday 5th April at 7pm in Glennon Brothers Pearse Park. This is to launch the new “TURAS” Coach Development Programme that will be ran out with all Clubs in the County in the coming months

Referee Shortage: There is currently a shortage of referees in the county. Without referees we will have no games so this situation needs to be urgently rectified by all clubs in the county. If you are interested in becoming a referee please contact Lorraine.
