ACFL Division 2 We got our Division 2 campaign off to a winning start on Saturday evening last when we defeated Killashee on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-9. Podge Gill scored the decisive goal mid-way through the second half. Subs used: Nigel Kiernan (0-1), Mark Prunty, Gearóid Nertney (0-1), Derek McKeon, Shane Hagan The next fixture is this Saturday, August 1^st at 7pm away to Ballymahon   Club Membership Thank you to everyone who has paid their membership to date, there has been a great response the last couple of weeks. Fixtures

Competitive action returns to the club this weekend coming. Thank you to those who have the grounds looking so well and in compliance with Covid regulations. We are playing St. Brigid’s, Killashee in Monaduff this Saturday, July 25^th at 7pm in the first round of the Division 2 league. In the Division 4 League (Patsy Reilly Cup – for players outside the named 15) we are playing Dromard in the first round this Sunday, July 26^th at 2pm in Monaduff.

Club Membership

Membership fees are now due. This is necessary for anyone wishing to play Junior or Senior with the club this year. The cost is €30 for adult members and €15 for students. Please make contact with Registrar, Bridie Reilly, to pay this as soon as possible.

Coronavirus (Covid-19)

 

A reminder that the club has offered to help collect the shopping/groceries/medication for the elderly and vulnerable in our parish. If you need this assistance or know of someone who does, please contact our secretary Lorraine Corrigan on 0864017301. Our team of volunteers are ready to help. We welcome the release of the GAA’s roadmap for the return to play. This starts with the opening of club pitches from the 29^th of June for non-contact training for groups of 10. Full contact training can commence from July 20^th with competitions starting from July 31^st.

ACFL Division 2

As a result of Kenagh conceding to Seán Connolly’s our senior team’s season has come to an end. It is a disappointing way in which to finish the year but we would like to thank the management team of Jack Lynn, Dessie Connell, Graham Lee and Niall Mulleady and the panel of players for their hard work and dedication all year.

ACFL Division 4

We received the points from Mullinalaghta last Sunday in the second last round of the Reserve League. Our final fixture is against Ardagh/Moydow. This has yet to be fixed.

Sympathy

The club was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of club great Mickey Bissett in Dublin at the weekend. Mickey was a dashing forward for St. Mel’s, Longford and the club in the 1950s and 1960s. The club also extends its sincere sympathy to the family and friends of Kathleen Sweeney (née Farrell), Brocklagh who passed away recently. Solas na bhFlaitheas orthu.
