Super8s Blitz
On Friday we kicked off our very first u8 “Super8s Blitz” with 45 boys and girls in the parish togged out in Dublin, Galway, Monaghan and Tyrone colours. Every team played each other with some great skills on show and it was a very enjoyable evening. The Blitz will run for the next three Fridays from 6.30 to 7.30 in Monaduff but keep an eye out for updates. We want to thank our kind sponsors Kiernans Centra, McKeon Tyres, Mulleady Longford Precast, ABC Childcare and McGahern Consulting. Thanks also to Edit Print, Longford for a great job on the tops and sign. More info in the coming weeks.
GAA Nursery
On Saturday, we had a finishing up party for the GAA Nursery Program, which was in its second year. During the year, a total of 50 boys and girls came to the Astro Turf on Saturday mornings which was great to see so we want to thank the coaches & helpers for their hard work and to the parents for bringing their children out. Everyone recieved an achievement certificate and we will be following up with those who were absent on Saturday. Finally, We want to wish the 2012 born boys and girls all the best where they will move up to the u8 squad next year and continue on their football journey.
U12
Our u12s have reached the Div3 Shield Final where they will play Clonbroney on Saturday at 1pm in Pearse Park. We wish Declan, Michael, Micheal and players the best of luck and hope to see a good crowd out in support.
U10s have a blitz on Wednesday in Ballinallee. They have also started a GAA skills challenge that will run for the next few weeks at their training sessions and there is very stiff competition indeed. Well done to Paul, Colin and Gearoid for this initiative.

Intermediate Championship: Our championship came to a very disappointing end on Saturday evening last when we were defeated by Rathcline on a scoreline of 2-14 to 0-9. We were guilty of missing too many chances including a couple of goal opportunities which needed to be converted to be in with a chance of winning. Well done to Rathcline and we wish them all the best in the final. The team and scorers were as follows:
Paddy Collum, Aaron McGee, Emmet Noonan, Dan Gorman, Mark Duffy, Dylan Quinn, Mark Hughes, Liam Lynch, David Collum (0-2), Ciarán Cooney, Gary Connell, Anthony Kane, Martin Cassidy (0-3, 2f), Diarmuid Cooney, Dean Cosgrave (0-1).

New York Senior Championship: Congratulations to the Longford GAA team in New York on winning the senior championship for the first time in their history courtesy of a 0-12 to 0-11 win over reigning champions Monaghan. This is a fantastic achievement given that they only won the Intermediate championship last year. Well done in particular to our own Darren Farley who captained the side and who had a terrific game at wing half back. It was a special day for one of our great supporters Joe Prunty who has for years been heavily involved with the GAA in New York and who has always helped out anyone from around who has gone stateside. Likewise, the great Des Dillon who is one of the sponsors of the team. Well done once again to all involved.
All Ireland Masters Final: Monaduff is the venue for the All Ireland Masters finals this Saturday, September 15th. The shield final takes place between Roscommon and Mayo and the senior final is between Dublin and Tyrone. There are plenty of former senior greats on show so both matches should be exciting encounters. A big crowd is expected to we ask clubpersons to come out and help steward

Sympathy: The club extends its sympathies to the Sorohan Family, Fardromin on the recent passing of Kathleen. Solas na bhFlaitheas uirthi.
