Membership is required for all playing members and for use of the gym. Membership entitles you to attend monthly club meetings and if received before March 31st, entitles you to a vote at next year’s AGM and entry into the draw for All Ireland tickets. To pay please contact Registrar, Bridie Reilly. Longford Seniors: Hard luck to Longford seniors who were beaten by Down at the weekend. We wish the lads all the best in their efforts to bounce back next Saturday against Laois, particularly our representatives Paddy Collum and Pauric Gill along with manager Padraic Davis and backroom team members Gordon Smyth and Ian Higgins. Challenge Match: The club’s pre-season preparations continued with another good challenge match last Saturday evening away to our neighbours Cloone. We came out on the right side of a 2-10 to 0-7 scoreline. Mulleady Group Intermediate Championship

We are out in the semi-final of the championship this Sunday, September 8th, in Pearse Park against Killashee. Throw-in is now at the earlier time than previously scheduled of 4pm. We would like to wish Jack and the team the very best of luck and hope to see a good crowd out to support the lads.

St. Helen’s News – 01-05-2109

Senior

On Tuesday 16th the supporters enjoyed a great evening of football as the team played Grattans in the Club League. St. Helens put in a huge performance in the second half to end up drawing the game at the final whistle.

On Easter Sunday the panel travelled to Mullinalaghta and enjoyed a great win.

Last Sunday 28th the girls played at home to B/F/K. The girls came back very strong in the second half but victory went to the visitors.

Under 16

The girls played two games the week before last on Wednesday 17th at home against Dromard and on Friday 19th away against Colmcille, both disappointing outcomes.  Last Tuesday 23rd the girls played Ballymore away which was a great game.  Despite getting within 3 points victory did not come our way.  The team have no games in the week ahead.

Under 14

Training continues with the Under 16 squad until games begin towards the end of May.  The team joined up with our Under 12 squad for training last Thursday which was enjoyed by all.  Thanks to all the coaches involved.

Under 12

On Thursday 18th Ballymore travelled to Monaduff and proved very strong competition defeating the team in their first home game.  The girls were out again the following Monday and enjoyed their first win of the year against Dromard.  The visitors came back very strong in the second half which was very exciting with St. Helens emerging victorious by a single point. The team have no games this week.

We have also held a bonding evening for our senior girls which took place Good Friday where we were delighted to present awards to 3 of our girls for all their hard work last season. Michelle Hughes won minor player of the year, Chantel Connell won most improved player of the year, and Kerri Donnelly won senior player of the year. It was a great night enjoyed by all.

Minor News – 11-03-2018

MONSTER BINGO: St Vincents Minor Club are holding their 8th Annual Bingo Fundraiser on Sunday 25th March 2018 @ 3pm,  in the ’98 Memorial Hall, Ballinamuck.  €2,500 to be won in prize money and Easter Eggs to be won on every page.  There will also be a monster raffle on the day.  As the Minor Club caters for Nursery Children up to age 17/18 years of age support from our players Parents, Families & Friends is important and appreciated.
St Vincents Minor Football Club: Nursery Programme: gives children ages 4 to 6 an opportunity to be introduced to sport in a friendly, fun and safe environment.  If you are interested in helping out in the nursery group, please contact Enda on 086 8290649 or check out our Facebook page for the link to register.
St Vincents Minor Football Club: U13 Leinster League – U13s played Athlone in their Final Game of the Leinster League on Saturday, the result didn’t go our way but well done & thank you to Players & Coaches.
St Vincents Minor Football Club: U16s had their First Round of their League against Dromard Sunday and although we lost by 7 points it was a very good performance from all Players.  Thanks to Players & Coaches.

Scór Sinsear: Hard luck to Shane Hagan who narrowly missed out on victory in the Senior Scór Solo Singing Leinster final after a terrific performance in The Downs on Sunday last. Thank you to Shane for the great effort he put in and we have no doubt he will have Leinster success in the near future.

U20 Championship: We received a walkover from Ballymahon/Forgney Gaels in the first round of the championship on Saturday last. The next round is away to Rathcline/Grattan Óg in Dunbeggan on Bank Holiday Monday, March 19th at 2pm. Best of luck to the team and management.

Longford Seniors: Well done to Paddy Collum, Pauric Gill and the Longford squad on battling back to earn a draw against Sligo last Sunday. Best of luck to the lads in their home fixture against neighbours Westmeath next Sunday.

Cúl Camps: A reminder to parents that the GAA Cúl Camps are back in Monaduff this year from August 6th until the 10th. Cost is €50 for the first child and €40 for each child thereafter. This represents terrific value considering the expert coaching each child receives as well as gear and the opportunity to meet an intercounty star. Booking can be done online.

GAA National Club Draw: The GAA National Club Draw was held on Thursday last in Croke Park. On account of having sold over 200 tickets the club was entered into a Longford specific draw and we were the lucky winners of €1,000. A massive thank you to all who sold tickets who helped make this happen.

Club Membership: Money for club membership is now due from all players and anyone who wish to become a member of Fr Manning Gaels for 2018. Membership is €30 for adults and €15 for students. Players who do not pay their membership fee will not be covered by club insurance should injury arise. Only those who have paid membership will be eligible to represent the club in the upcoming season. Membership entitles entry in draw for All-Ireland football and hurling tickets in August. Those who pay membership by March 31st ’18 will also be eligible to vote at next years AGM.
