St. Helen’s News – 01-05-2109

Senior

On Tuesday 16th the supporters enjoyed a great evening of football as the team played Grattans in the Club League. St. Helens put in a huge performance in the second half to end up drawing the game at the final whistle.

On Easter Sunday the panel travelled to Mullinalaghta and enjoyed a great win.

Last Sunday 28th the girls played at home to B/F/K. The girls came back very strong in the second half but victory went to the visitors.

Under 16

The girls played two games the week before last on Wednesday 17th at home against Dromard and on Friday 19th away against Colmcille, both disappointing outcomes.  Last Tuesday 23rd the girls played Ballymore away which was a great game.  Despite getting within 3 points victory did not come our way.  The team have no games in the week ahead.

Under 14

Training continues with the Under 16 squad until games begin towards the end of May.  The team joined up with our Under 12 squad for training last Thursday which was enjoyed by all.  Thanks to all the coaches involved.

Under 12

On Thursday 18th Ballymore travelled to Monaduff and proved very strong competition defeating the team in their first home game.  The girls were out again the following Monday and enjoyed their first win of the year against Dromard.  The visitors came back very strong in the second half which was very exciting with St. Helens emerging victorious by a single point. The team have no games this week.

We have also held a bonding evening for our senior girls which took place Good Friday where we were delighted to present awards to 3 of our girls for all their hard work last season. Michelle Hughes won minor player of the year, Chantel Connell won most improved player of the year, and Kerri Donnelly won senior player of the year. It was a great night enjoyed by all.
