Consultation Process for “Connecting for Life” – SuIcide Prevention Action Plan: The HSE, in partnership with the community, voluntary and statutory organisations, is developing a Suicide Prevention Action Plan for the counties of Longford/Westmeath, Laois/Offaly, Louth/Meath. It will be based on the national Connecting for Life Strategy *National Strategy as outlined below. This process commenced in April 2017 and will be completed and launched in early 2018.
Given the complexity and the cross-cutting nature of suicide and self-harm, consultation will play a key role in the development of the Plan. This provides an opportunity for individuals, service providers, community organisations and those at increased risk of self-harm and suicide to give their views, contribute their knowledge and expertise and have their say regarding what should be included in the Plan. This will help to ensure that the national goals are translated into local actions that are consistent, efficient and effective.
You are invited to take part in this consultation by completing a short online survey which can be found at the following website: www.connectingforlifemidlandslouthmeath.ie The website contains surveys aimed at both service providers and members of the public.
If you have any queries or questions, please do not hesitate to contact Eddie Ward by email: eddie.ward@hse.ie or by phone: (043) 335-0169 Mob: (086) 380-1152
