Minor News – 31-03-2019

MONSTER BINGO: St Vincents Minor Club are holding our Annual Bingo Fundraiser on Sunday 14th April 2019 @ 3pm,  in the ’98 Memorial Hall, Ballinamuck.  €2,500 to be won in prize money and Easter Eggs to be won on every page.  There will also be a monster raffle on the day.  The Minor Club caters for Nursery Children up to age 17/18 years of age and support from our players Parents, Families & Friends is appreciated.

Latest News – 31-03-2019

Lotto: The Lotto draw was held last Monday, April 1st in The Olde Village Inn, Drumlish. The Jackpot was €15,400. Results are currently on the club website and will be published in next week’s notes. Tickets are available from the usual outlets and from any member of the executive. Thank you to everyone who continues to support our lotto.

ACFL Division 2: Our match against Legan Sarsfields was called off at the weekend and will be rescheduled at a later date. We play Kenagh, this Sunday, April 7th in McGann Park at 2pm. Best of luck to the team and management.

ACFL Division 3: Our Juniors got their league off to a great start on Saturday evening last when they defeated Shroid Slashers on a scoreline of 5-14 to 2-2. Young Brian O’Connor was very impressive and he finished with 4-3 to his credit. Their next outing is this Saturday, April 6th away to Dromard. The team and scorers were as follows:

Thank you to everyone who continues to support our lotto.

Club Membership: Club Membership for the forthcoming year is now available. The cost is €30 for adults and €15 for students. Membership is required for all playing members and for use of the gym. Membership entitles you to attend monthly club meetings and if received before March 31st, entitles you to a vote at next year’s AGM and entry into the draw for All Ireland tickets. To pay please contact Registrar, Bridie Reilly.

Challenge Match: We had our first get together of the year under the new management team of Jack Lynn, Dessie Connell, Niall Mulleady and Graham Lee on Sunday morning last in Monaduff when the lads faced Gowna in a challenge. It was an excellent workout for both sides with our lads emrging the victors 2-14 to 2-10. The team was follows:

We wish a speedy recovery to Robbie Rehill who got injured during the match.

Longford Seniors: Best of luck to Paddy Collum, Pauric Gill, manager Padraic Davis, backroom team members Ian Higgins & Gordon Smyth and the rest of the Longford squad as they face Down in Round 4 of the National League this Sunday in Pearse Park.

Mullinalaghta: Commiserations to Mullinalaghta after their All Ireland Semi-Final loss to Dr. Crokes. It was a gallant effort after a historic season and the whole county is proud of your achievements.

Leinster Colleges: Well done to Gaels players Cian Murphy and Cian Cassidy who both played significant roles in St. Mel’s Leinster championship victory over St. Peter’s, Wexford last week. Cian Cassidy was the match-winner with 2-1 and Cian Murphy had a fine game at corner back. We wish the lads the best of luck for the rest of the campaign

National Club Draw: The National Club Draw tickets are back on sale again this year and this great initiative by the GAA has helped contribute vital funds to our club for the past number of years. There is a new prize for participating clubs whereby there is a chance to play a club championship match in Croke Park. Individual prizes include: A brand new Renault Clio 4 Expression; a €2,000 travel voucher; All Ireland Hurling & Football packages; various shopping vouchers and many more. Details of each prize available are on each ticket. Tickets cost €10 and can be bought from any member of the Gaels squad. As always, your support is greatly appreciated.
