Fr. Manning Gaels 0-07
Sean Connollys 0-02
In a game where both defences came out on top, Fr. Manning Gaels made it 4 wins out of 4 as they struggled to beat a dogged Seán Connolly’s outfit on Sunday afternoon last in Monaduff. The Gaels hit 12 wides in total, in a game where they dominated possession but were unable to reflect that dominance on the scoreboard. The home side started off brightly with two quick points from midfielder Pauric Gill inside the first ten minutes. Connolly’s then responded with their solitary score of the first half with a 30 yard free in front of the goals by Dessie Reynolds. Martin Cassidy then clipped over a 14 yard free after he was fouled bearing down on goals. This left the Half Time score: Fr. Manning Gaels 0-3 Seán Connolly’s 0-1. The Ballinalee outfit made it a one point game when Dessie Reynolds fired over their final point of the match and this was a nervous period for the Gaels. However, they responded to what could have been a disastrous result with some excellent scores from Martin Cassidy, Petie Collum, Darren Farley and influential substitute Eoin Keane to leave the final score 0-7 to 0-2.

Killoe 4-16
St. Helen’s 4-10
St. Helen’s lost out to Killoe by 6 points in the Division 1 semi-final in Clonee on Sunday morning. For the majority of the match Helen’s looked as if they would reach the final however in the final 15 minutes Killoe kicked on to emerge comfortable winners. Helen’s got the perfect start when Laura Burke scored a goal with the first chance of the game after 40 seconds. Aisling O’Hara converted a penalty shortly after that after Zoe Connell was pulled back. Killoe then woke up and countered with a goal of their own to leave the Half Time score: 2-5 to 1-7 in favour of St. Helen’s.
Killoe hit the first 3 points of the second half before the outstanding Laura Burke put St. Helen’s back in front with a brilliant goal. Killoe started to take control of game after that and in final quarter found the net twice. Aisling O’Hara buried a consolation goal with last kick of game to leave the final score 4-16 to 4-10.
