Marquee Festival: Its nearly that time of year again where all roads lead to Drumlish for the ”Marquee in Drumlish Festival”. It starts on Friday night the 19th of August with the Knights of Leon – tribute band to the Kings of Leon, Brave Giant followed by DJ Fergal D’Arcy. On Saturday night the Marquee goes country with Gerry Guthrie and Nathan Carter. On Sunday night we will have Top Shelf, Rhythm & Sticks, The Stunning and the Aftermath. And Finally on Monday night we will have the Declan Nerney and Friends night. Declan will be joined by many great acts including Big Tom, Una Healy, Johnny Brady, Robert Mizzell and many more. There will be a late bar every night till 2pm, each night the show will be starting at 9pm. Tickets will be available on the door. On the Saturday from 2pm we will have a Family Fun Day in Monaduff for everyone to come out and enjoy. Attractions on the day will include the Parish League, Bouncing Castles, Face Painting and much much more. Admission on the day will be free and a great days entertainment for the kids is guaranteed. On Sunday, it’s out to Ballinamuck for the Annual Marquee Monster Bingo in the 98 Memorial Hall. This will start at 3pm. Senior Championship Commiserations to our senior team who were defeated by Ballymahon on Sunday last in the first round of the championship. Our next game is on Tuesday next 2nd. of August against Ratchline in Allen park Newtownforbes at 8.00pm.

Marquee Festival: Preparations are now well under way for the annual marquee festival which will take place from Friday 19th. to Monday 22nd. August. Again this year many local and national top acts will feature as well as a family fun day in Monaduff Park on Saturday and bingo on Sunday afternoon. Sympathy: The club extends it’s sympathy to the following: The relatives the late Joseph McAdam Church View Drive, Cathal and Laura Quinn on the death of Cathal’s grandad and Michael and Eileen Quinn and family, Cloonaugh on the death of Eileen’s mother recently.

Carrickedmond 1-20

Hard luck to the Reserve team who were defeated in the first round of the championship by Carrickedmond on a scoreline of 1-20 to 3-6. The Gaels were short a number of players who would have been available for Reserve selection, however it was still a determined performance by the lads who now face Mostrim on the 27th of this month in what is a must win game for the team to qualify for the knock out stages. The Gaels were leading at half time 2-3 to 0-8, and it looked as if the Gaels were well in contention, however Carrickedmond asserted their authority in the second half (against a 14 man Gaels team after Anthony McKeon received a straight red) and ended up running out comfortable victors by 8 points.
