St. Vincent’s News – 01-05-2017

GAA Nursery Programme: Well done to all who attended and helped organise our first GAA Nursery Session. It was a great success – we had 50 boys and girls in attendance and we had great fun. The nursery programme caters for boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 6. The purpose of the programme is to introduce the children to the fundementals of Gaelic Football by following the ABC & Having a Ball programmes from the GAA Fun Do Learning Resource Pack. We continue this Saturday morning in the Community Centre at 10.30am. We look forward to seeing you all there.

Annual Mass: Sunday 7th May (La Na gClub 2017) – The Annual Mass for deceased family, relatives and friends of St Vincents Club, Fr Manning Gaels and St Helen’s Ladies Club will be celebrated in St Mary’s Church, Drumlish at 11am. Hopefully there will be a good representation from the Ballinamuck/Drumlish area.

St. Helen’s News – 01-05-2017

Annual Mass: On Sunday 7th May (La na gClub 2017) the Annual Mass for deceased family, relatives and friends of St Helen’s Ladies football Club, St Vincent’s Minor Club and Fr. Manning Gaels will be celebrated in St Mary’s Church Drumlish at 11am. Hopefully there will be good representation from the Drumlish/Ballinamuck area.

Missing Jerseys: A set of u-14 jerseys seems to have gone missing. If you know anything about jerseys please contact a member of our executive or contact Paul on 0833046640.

Seniors: Hard luck to our seniors who were defeated by Mostrim in the league last Sunday. Our next game is against Longford Slashers on bank holiday Monday, away at 11:30.

Training: U -12 Training continues every Wednesday at 6:45 to 8 in Monaduff and U-16/U-14 Tuesday’s at 6:30 to 7:30.

GAA Nursery Kicks Off: This Sat April 29th, St Vincent’s & St Helen’s will commence its first GAA nursery programme which will run for an initial 6 week period on Saturday mornings from 10:30-11:30 in the Drumlish Community Centre/Astro Turf and will be FREE of charge. The nursery programme will cater for boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 6 and the purpose of the programme is to introduce the children to the fundamentals of Gaelic Football by following the ABC & Having a Ball programmes from the GAA Fun Do Learning Resource Pack.

Get Well Soon: The Club wishes a speedy recovery to Fr. Manning Gaels player David Cassidy on his recent illness.

Latest News – 01-05-2017

Lotto: The draw was held in O’Reilly’s Bar, Drumlish on Monday last, May 1st. The jackpot was €5,800. Results will be available on the club website when available and will be in next week’s notes.

Tickets are available from the usual outlets and also from any member of the club executive.

Junior League: The Junior team had a useful challenge match last Saturday evening in Monaduff against Dromard, in which the visitors held on for a narrow victory.

Senior Team: Our matches in the Senior league versus Killoe and the Bertie Allen Cup versus Clonguish were both called off next week. The next match is this Friday evening at 8.45pm in Monaduff against Colmcille in the Bertie Allen Cup.

Annual Mass: The annual Mass for deceased family, relatives and friends of Fr. Manning Gaels, St. Vincent’s Minor Club and St. Helen’s Ladies club will be celebrated on Sunday, May 7th at 11am in St. Mary’s Church, Drumlish. This date coincides with the GAA Lá na gClub and it is hoped there will be good representation from the Drumlish/Ballinamuck area.

Get Well Soon: Everyone at the club would like to wish talented minor Brian O’Connor a quick recovery after he sustained a serious leg injury during training at the weekend. David Cassidy remains in our thoughts and prayers as he continues his recovery in Prague.

Welcome Home: Welcome home to Gary Connell who is back in Ireland after a stint in the United States.

GAA Nursery: St Vincents & St Helens commenced its first GAA nursery programme which will run for an initial 6 week period on Saturday mornings from 10:30-11:30am in the Drumlish Community Centre/Astro Turf and will be FREE of charge. The nursery programme will cater for boys and girls between the ages of 4 and 6 and the purpose of the programme is to introduce the children to the fundementals of Gaelic Football by following the ABC & Having a Ball programmes from the GAA Fun Do Learning Resource Pack. Information will be sent out to local Primary Schools and Creches next week.
