Latest News – 24-07-2017

Senior Championship: Hard luck to our senior team who bravely lost out against Colmcille on Sunday evening last in a sun-soaked Allen Park on a scoreline of 0-12 to 0-9. We were extremely unfortunate not to get at least a draw out of the game. With only injury time remaining and a point between the sides, it appeared as if Petie Collum was clearly fouled 14 yards out from goals. However, the free was unfortunately not given, and Colmcille were able to manufacture two further points to win out by 3 in the end. We have a bye next weekend and are out again the following weekend in a must-win game against St. Mary’s, Granard. Best of luck to the team and management in their preparations for this crucial encounter. The team and scorers were as follows:

Paddy Collum (0-1, ’45), Mickey Kelly, Cian Brady, Emmet Noonan, Mark Duffy, Pauric Gill (0-2). Nigel Kiernan, Seán Whelan, David Collum, Anthony Kane (0-1), Diarmuid Cooney, Eoin Keane (0-4, (4f)), Kevin Whelan (0-1), Petie Collum, Mark Hughes.

Substitutions used: Dean Cosgrave, Stephen Cosgrave, Gearóid Nertney.

Lotto: The draw will be held in The Village Inn, Drumlish on Monday, July 24th. The Jackpot was €7,000. Results will be available on the club website when available and will be in next week’s notes. Tickets are available from the usual outlets and from any member of the executive.
