Senior Championship
We qualified for the quarter finals of the senior championship on Saturday last as a result of Longford Slashers’ win over Carrickedmond. We now await the draw next weekend to see who our opponents will be. This is our first senior quarter final since 2012 so well done to all.

Best of luck to Darren Smith, Graham Lee and the squad in the next round of the championship tonight, Wednesday August 26th at 7pm in Monaduff against Longford Slashers. Well done to David Collum on being selected as the junior team captain for the year. Belated well done also to Paddy Collum who was selected as senior team captain and Pauric Gill as vice-captain.
Sympathy
The club extends sympathy to the families and friends of Eva Dooner (Rooskey, sister of Phil Hagan, Kilnashee), Des Cole (UK, late of Gaigue), John Campbell (UK, late of Clonaugh) and Patrick Reilly (Abbeylara, brother of Mary Mimnagh, Drumlish). Everyone at the club was saddened to learn of the passing of Eileen Cooney last week. We extend our deepest sympathy to Minor Club President Johnny and sons Ciarán, Seán and Diarmuid, who all have contributed so much to this club on and off the field, and to the wider Cooney and Brady families and large circle of friends. It was also with great regret that we heard of the passing of two former players recently; Frank McVeigh, Fardromin and Charlie Shivnen, Mohill (who played whilst stationed as a Garda in Drumlish in the late 60s/early 70s). We extend our deepest condolences to their respective families and friends. Solas na bhFlaitheas orthu go léir.
Senior Championship
Pride of place goes to our senior team and management who pulled off a terrific 1-12 to 0-12 victory in the championship over Carrickedmond on Friday evening last. We now await the result of the Longford Slashers and Carrickedmond match this weekend to see if we progress to the quarter finals. Ryan Crowe palmed the crucial goal to net with about ten minutes remaining after receiving an excellent pass across from Conor Keenan. We wish John Paul Farley a speedy recovery after his nasty ankle injury in the first half. The team and scorers were as follows:
Aiden Gray, John Paul Farley, Cian Brady, Mark Hughes, Emmet Noonan (0-1), Liam Lynch, Mark Duffy, Paddy Collum (0-3, 1f), Seán Whelan, Cian Cassidy (0-2), Ryan Crowe (1-1), Anthony Kane (0-2), Martin Cassidy (0-4, 2f), Eoin Keane, Conor Keenan.

Junior Championship
Best of luck to Darren Smith, Graham Lee and the Junior team in the first round of the championship tonight, Wednesday August 19th at 7.15pm in Higginstown against St. Mary’s, Granard.
Senior Championship
We suffered a bad defeat on Saturday last to Longford Slashers in the first round of the championship on a scoreline of 2-16 to 0-8. It was always going to be difficult against last year’s county finalists but our cause was not helped with injuries to Dean Cosgrave, Pauric Gill and Darren Farley the week before the match. We wish the lads a speedy recovery along with Derek McCormack and Nigel Kiernan who had to retire injured during the game. The team and scorers were as follows:
Aiden Gray, John Paul Farley, Emmet Noonan, Derek McCormack, Mark Hughes, Eoin Keane (0-1), Nigel Kiernan, Liam Lynch, Paddy Collum (0-1, ’45) Cian Cassidy (0-2), Seán Whelan, Anthony Kane (0-2), Martin Cassidy (0-2, 2f), Podge Gill, Conor Keenan.
Subs used:
Mark Duffy, Cian Brady, James Noonan, Ryan Crowe, Stephen Cosgrave
