Danny McGee Tribute
In memory of Danny McGee, money raised from last year’s SingForMe Festival in Cavan was for The Kevin Bell Trust. A portion of the money raised was put towards a plaque to remember Danny, not just for the night of the festival but for years to come. The quote on the plaque is some of Danny’s words from his SmileForMe post. The club was deeply honoured to be presented with the plaque on Saturday last and it is now proudly on the wall in Monaduff. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
Sympathy
The club extends sympathy to the family and friends of Mary McKiernan (née Martin, formerly Ballinamuck) who passed away recently. Solas na bhFlaitheas uirthi.
Senior Championship
We suffered a bad defeat on Saturday last to Longford Slashers in the first round of the championship on a scoreline of 2-16 to 0-8. It was always going to be difficult against last year’s county finalists but our cause was not helped with injuries to Dean Cosgrave, Pauric Gill and Darren Farley the week before the match. We wish the lads a speedy recovery along with Derek McCormack and Nigel Kiernan who had to retire injured during the game. The team and scorers were as follows:
Aiden Gray, John Paul Farley, Emmet Noonan, Derek McCormack, Mark Hughes, Eoin Keane (0-1), Nigel Kiernan, Liam Lynch, Paddy Collum (0-1, ’45) Cian Cassidy (0-2), Seán Whelan, Anthony Kane (0-2), Martin Cassidy (0-2, 2f), Podge Gill, Conor Keenan.
Subs used:

Senior Championship
On Sunday afternoon last we played Longford Slashers in the senior championship quarter final. We were defeated on a score-line of 1-9 to 1-7. Having been defeated by Slashers by 14 points in the first round, the team performed admirably. We were unlucky not to emerge victorious after Pauric Gill was fouled for a penalty and Martin Cassidy converted in the closing stages but the team as a whole gave it everything and the club is very proud of all involved. Thank you once again to Mike and Martin Mulleady for sponsoring lovely jackets for the team and management. This is greatly appreciated by all
Junior Championship
Our Junior team bowed out of the championship last week as a result of Longford Slashers’ victory over Granard. Thank you to Darren Smith and Graham Lee and the team for their effort throughout the year
