Longford

Hard luck to club representatives Paddy Collum and Conor Keenan and the Longford team and management on their defeat by Fermanagh in Ederney last Saturday. Paddy had an exceptional match in goals with excellent kickouts and one magnificent save midway through the second half to keep Longford in the game. It was great to hear our Chairman Mike Mulleady do a superb job on co-commentary on Shannonside. There was an interesting local connection with the Fermanagh team, as their goalkeeper, Sean McNally, is a grand-nephew of former Gaels player and great supporter Michael McNally. Best of luck to the Longford team this weekend against Westmeath

Ireland Lights Up

The hugely popular ‘Ireland Lights Up’ initiative returns in January 2023, in partnership with RTÉ’s Operation Transformation, and Get Ireland Walking. GAA clubs across the 32 counties will once more ensure ‘Ireland Lights Up’ by turning on their floodlights and hosting community walking groups during the eight-week broadcast period of the hit RTÉ show.

The aim is to make exercise more accessible on the dark winter nights and to offer local communities an opportunity to get together and socialise in a healthy way.

Fr Manning Gaels have signed up to this initiative and we lit up Monaduff GAA Grounds for walking last night, Tuesday January 10th from 8pm to 9pm. Everyone is welcome to walk our track
