Intermediate Championship

We won our second round match when we defeated Cashel 2-13 to 0-8 on Saturday evening last in Dunbeggan. Cashel led 0-4 to 0-2 in the early stages before Aiden Gray pounced on a Conor Keenan rebound for a vital goal. The points came from Conor Keenan (2), Dean Cosgrave, Aiden Gray, Pauric Gill and two frees from Martin Cassidy for fouls on Gill and himself. It was 1-7 to 0-4 at the break. We were well on top in the second half and victory was secured when Martin Cassidy slotted home the second goal after a good move involving Gray, Gill and Keenan.  The team and scorers were as follows: Paddy Collum (0-1, ‘45), Jamie Nertney, Cian Brady, Paul McGee, Kaelum Gill (0-1), JP Farley, Dean Cosgrave (0-1), Mark Breslin, Sean Whelan, Cian Cassidy (0-1), Conor Keenan (0-3), David Collum, Pauric Gill (0-3), Aiden Gray (1-1, Martin Cassidy (1-2, 2f). Subs used: Mark Hughes, Ryan Crowe, Cian Murphy, Kevin Whelan, Stephen Cosgrave, Orrin Greene. We play Sean Connollys in the next round this Sunday at 1.45pm in Colmcille. Speedy recovery to Sean Whelan who picked up an injury in the early stages. The very best of luck to Fintan, Mick, Graham and the lads.
