Annual Table Quiz: Our annual table quiz took place on Friday last in Gallagher’s Bar, Drumlish. As always it was a great evening’s entertainment so thank you to all who took part and well done to all who won prizes. In first place (after a tense tiebreaker asking how many square feet is the White House!) winning €100, was Table 1 – Ciarán Carey, Margaret Ann Carey and Michelle Mollaghan. In second place, winning €60, was Table 12 – Séamus Gallagher, Stelia Hopkins, Tony Clarke and Eleanor Beirne, who kindly donated their prize back to the club. In third place, winning €40, was Table 3 – Seán Mahon, Catherine Mahon, Vanessa Hayden, Mike Mulleady, Imelda McIntyre and Majella Farmer, who also kindly donated their prize back to the club. Longford Seniors: Well done to Paddy Collum, Pauric Gill and the Longford squad on their 6 point victory over Louth in the first round of the O’Byrne Cup. We wish them the best of luck in the next round against Kildare this Sunday in Pearse Park.

Mohill Success: Well done to clubmen Padraic Davis, Pete McWade and Ian Higgins on their back to back U21 championship success with Mohill at the weekend. This rounds off a great 2017 for the three men who also secured the Senior Championship and League earlier in the year.

Rounders: Seán Connolly’s, Ballinalee have recently set up a Rounders team, so if anyone is interested in playing one of the other GAA sports you can find out more information by emailing rounders.sec@seanconnollys.com

As we do not currently participate in Rounders ourselves, any one of our registered club members are eligible to play with Seán Connolly’s.

GAA Games Development Conference: The GAA Games Development Conference 2018 is being developed in partnership with Sky Sports and will take place on Friday and Saturday, January 12th and 13th 2018 in Croke Park. Run as a partnership between all of the Gaelic Games Associations, the Conference will offer the 750 delegates attending an opportunity to access talks relating to key coaching issues in hurling/camogie, Gaelic football/Ladies Gaelic football, Handball and Rounders which are related to players across the entire player development pathway. Friday, January 12th will feature a Youth Development forum that will investigate many of the issues related to ensuring that player are provided with an adequate programme of games, appropriate to their needs and abilities. Speakers will present on a number of initiatives that have been developed to complement the formal games programme. Saturday, January 13th provides an opportunity for delegates to attend sessions from speakers of national and internal renowned covering topics relevant to the player, the coach, the game and the environment. Speakers include: Paul McGinley, Stephen McDonnell, former Armagh Senior Footballer, Diarmuid Lyng, Tony Óg Regan, Peter Keane (Manager of the 2017 Kerry Minor Football team), and Ashley Jones (Strength and Conditioning coach, formerly coach to the New Zealand All Blacks).

Tickets cost €60 and are available to purchase from the dedicated ticket site.
