Minor News – 29-04-2018

Footballers Annual Mass will be celebrated on Sunday 13th May, 2018 in St Marys Church, Drumlish at 11am for all our deceased family members, relatives and friends of St Vincents Minor Club, Fr Manning Gaels and St Helen’s Ladies Club & for all who have passed away in the last 12 months. RIP.
 
Cul Camps are back in Monaduff this year: 6th – 10th Aug. Booking can be done online. Book early to avoid disappointment.

Michael Moran ACFL Division 2: Well done to our squad who got back to winning ways on Friday evening last by overcoming Kenagh on a scoreline of 1-16 to 1-3 in Monaduff. An excellent flicked goal by full forward Kevin Whelan, from a Dean Cosgrave soccer style cross, set the lads on their way to victory mid way through the first half. Short many players for various reasons it was great to come away with two points and a good performance. This match concludes action in the league proper until Longford are finished in the championship. We are out in the Bertie Allen Cup this Saturday evening at 7pm away to Ballymahon. Longford Race Day Punchestown: Thank you to Tom Cassidy who this year again organised the selling of tickets for the annual Longford GAA race day at Punchestown. The club was very well represented and a great day out was had by all.

New Arrival: Congratulations to club stalwart Cian Brady and his wife Laura on the birth of their baby daughter at the weekend

Division 3A: Well done to our Junior squad who defeated Longford Slashers on Saturday evening last in Monaduff on a scoreline of 1-13 to 1-10. Afisted goal from Ryan Crowe with 5 minutes left on the clock helped secure a thoroughly deserved victory for our lads. The team and scorers were as follows:

Cúl Camps: A reminder for parents that the Cúl Camps are back in Monaduff this year from August 6th until the 10th. the cost is €50 for the first child and €40 for every child thereafter. Jimmy Mimnagh RIP: It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of our Club President, Jimmy Mimnagh during the week. Jimmy was a lifelong supporter of the Gaels and a true gentleman. The club held a guard of honour at the removal and would like to thank all our members who were there to show their respects. He will be sorely missed by all. We extend our deepest sympathies to the Mimnagh family. Solas na bhFlaitheas air.

Club Membership: Money for club membership is now due from all players and anyone who wish to become a member of Fr Manning Gaels for 2018. Membership is €30 for adults and €15 for students. Players who do not pay their membership fee will not be covered by club insurance should injury arise. Only those who have paid membership will be eligible to represent the club in the upcoming season. Membership entitles entry in draw for All-Ireland football and hurling tickets in August. Those who pay membership byMarch 31st ’18 will also be eligible to vote at next years AGM.
