Jimmy Mimnagh RIP: It was with great sadness that we learned of the passing of our Club President, Jimmy Mimnagh during the week. Jimmy was a lifelong supporter of the Gaels and a true gentleman. The club held a guard of honour at the removal and would like to thank all our members who were there to show their respects. He will be sorely missed by all. We extend our deepest sympathies to the Mimnagh family. Solas na bhFlaitheas air.

Longford Seniors: Hard luck to Paddy Collum, Pauric Gill and the Longford squad on their narrow defeat to Fermanagh at the weekend. We wish the team and management all the best in their preparations for championship.

Cúl Camps: A reminder for parents that the Cúl Camps are back in Monaduff this year from August 6th until the 10th. the cost is €50 for the first child and €40 for every child thereafter. This is great value considering the top quality coaching each child receives, as well as Cúl Camps gear and the chance to meet an intercounty star. Booking can be done online.

Bertie Allen Cup: Hard luck to our Bertie Allen squad who were defeated by Mostrim on Friday night last in Monaduff on a scoreline of 5-13 to 2-5. The team and scorers were as follows:

Junior Reserve League – Padraic Gearty Cup: Hard luck to our juniors who were defeated by Kenagh in the first round of the Padraic Gearty Cup on Sunday morning last in Monaduff on a scoreline of 1-15 to 0-10. The team and scorers were as follows:

The juniors are out in Division 3A Easter Monday at 2pm in Monaduff against Legan Sarsfields.

Club Membership: Money for club membership is now due from all players and anyone who wish to become a member of Fr Manning Gaels for 2018. Membership is €30 for adults and €15 for students. Players who do not pay their membership fee will not be covered by club insurance should injury arise. Only those who have paid membership will be eligible to represent the club in the upcoming season. Membership entitles entry in draw for All-Ireland football and hurling tickets in August. Those who pay membership byMarch 31st ’18 will also be eligible to vote at next years AGM.

U20 Championship: Hard luck to our U20s who were well beaten by the Grattán Óg/Rathcline amalgamation on Bank Holiday Monday last. Final score was 8-11 to 2-6. The team and scorers were as follows:

Scór Sinsear: Hard luck to our quiz team who took part in the Tráth na gCeist in Pearse Park on Thursday last. Thank you to Ciarán Cooney, Joseph Gill, Gabriel Higgins and Pauric Gill for putting in a great effort but just fell short.

Wedding: Congratulations to former player and current sponsor Peter Davis on his wedding at the weekend. We wish Peter and his wife Camilla health and happiness for the future.

Sympathy: The club extends our sincere condolences to John Duffy and the Duffy family, Lettergullion, on the recent tragic death of John’s niece in Galway. Solas na bhFlaitheas uirthi.
