St. Vincent’s Success: Pride of place this week goes to our magnificent St. Vincent’s U-12 team who captured the Div. 2 title last Saturday morning against Dromard in Pearse Park. They showed great courage and determination to overcome a 0-4 to 0-0 deficit at half time and emerged victorious on a score line of 2-8 to 1-6. Well done to the team and management and all involved in our minor club who are doing tremendous work for underage in the parish. We would like to wish the best of luck to our U-14 team who are in the county final this Saturday in Pearse Park against Grattan Óg.
U-21 Championship: Our U-21 team are out in the first round of the championship this Saturday evening at 5pm in Monaduff against Granard/Ballymore. Best of luck to the squad and management team of Séamus Noonan, Ken Leonard and Gearóid Nertney.

Congratulations: Well done to clubmen Padraic Davis, Pete McWade and Ian Higgins who helped guide Mohill to another Leitrim senior county final last weekend with a hard fought one point victory over Carrick. We wish the lads all the best in their preparations for the final.
Club Meeting: The monthly executive meeting will be held this Thursday, September 28th in Monaduff at 8.30pm. All members of the executive are requested to attend. This will be followed by a club meeting at 9.30pm which is open to all members of the club.

ACFL Division 1: Hard luck to our senior team who drew with county semi finalists, Mostrim on a scoreline of FMG 2-9 Mostrim 1-12 on Friday night last. This result means that we will be playing Division 2 football in 2018. The team and scorers were as follows:

Church Gate Collection: Thank you to those who supported our annual collection this year. Thanks especially to Stephen McDermott, Kevin Davis, and Frankie McGowan who manned the collection box on Saturday in Drumlish and to Betty Creegan and Lorraine Corrigan who were in Ballinamuck on Sunday and to Lorraine and Packie Duffy who were in Drumlish on Sunday.
Senior Championship: We played St. Mary’s, Granard in the Senior championship Relegation Play-Off on Friday night last in Kenagh and unfortunately we were not at the races and came out second best on a scoreline of 2-18 to 1-10. This disappointing result means we will be playing Intermediate championship in 2018. Hard luck to the team and management who gave it their all and were most unfortunate to find themselves in this situation having finished the championship group on 5 points.

We have 3 games left in the Division 1 league, all of which are vital if we are stay remain in the top flight. We were due to play Mullinalaghta this Sunday, however, this is postponed until a later date on account of their quarter final replay with Killoe this weekend.
ACFL Division 3: Our junior match with Abbeylara did not go ahead on Sunday last. The league is now over and we would like to thank all the players who put in a great effort throughout the year. Thanks also to the management team of Séamus Noonan and Ken Leonard.

Marquee in Drumlish – August 18th to 21st Our 8th Annual Marquee in Drumlish Festival was held last weekend and we would like to thank everyone involved for helping make it such a tremendous success. Thank you to the artists who provided such wonderful entertainment on each of the 4 nights. On Friday we had Seán Rooney, State Lights, Chasing Abbey and DJ Fergal D’Arcy. On Saturday night we had Robert Mizzell and Derek Ryan. On Sunday we had Small Time Thieves (aka Top Shelf), The Blizzards and The Aftermath/Cronin and on Monday it was the Declan Nerney night with many special guests including Big Tom, Una Healy, Jimmy Buckley, Mick Flavin, Dominic/Barry Kirwan, John McNicholl, Philomena Begley, Séamus Moore and Trudi Lawlor. Thank you to the Gray family for the use of the Old School site. Thank you to the many volunteers who worked in the preparation of the site and over the course of the weekend. There were many early starts and late finishes but your hard work paid off and is greatly appreciated. Thanks to all those who helped run the Monster Bingo in Ballinamuck on Sunday and to those who ran the youth event in the Marquee on Saturday afternoon. Thanks to the Order of Malta, Civil Defence and An Garda Síochána for their tireless work also.
