Walk Your Parish
Well done to our 76 runners who completed the Walk Your Parish challenge on Sunday last, clocking up over 5,200 kilometres in total. This was a great initiative by the council to encourage people to be active. Well done to all involved in organising it
National Club Draw
The National Club Draw tickets are back on sale again this year and this great initiative by the GAA has helped contribute vital funds to our club for the past number of years. Individual prizes include: A brand new Renault Clio; a €2,000 travel voucher; All Ireland Hurling & Football packages; various shopping vouchers and many more. Details of each prize available are on each ticket. Tickets cost €10 and can be purchased on Clubspot. This year the club is running a Gaels specific draw where one lucky person who buys from us will win €1,000. As always, your support is greatly appreciated.
Annual Christmas Quiz
Our popular annual Christmas quiz is back this year, but with a difference. We will do it online this year through Quizizz, with cash prizes for the top 3 and spot prizes at random. Quiz will take place this Sunday, December 27th at 9pm. Please register through purchasing a €10 ticket on Clubspot and an email with the link and code to the quiz will be sent privately to you 15 minutes before the quiz starts. Please register before 8pm on the day
Happy Christmas

Walk Your Parish
Well done to our 75 runners who clocked up over 1,300km this week in the Walk Your Parish challenge. This is the last week of it and you can still join in until the 20th. Download and sign up to the STRAVA app (free) and follow Longford Sports Partnership and request to join your parish team, then record your walk on STRAVA. You can also send a screenshot from your fitness tracker to sports@longfordcoco.ie
National Club Draw
The National Club Draw is back and tickets will be available for purchase on Clubspot this week or from any member of the executive. First prize is a brand-new Renault Clio. This year the club is running a Gaels specific draw where one lucky person who buys from us will win €1,000. Tickets cost €10, a book of 5 costs €50.

Coronavirus (Covid-19)
A reminder that the club has offered to help collect the shopping/groceries/medication for the elderly and vulnerable in our parish. If you need this assistance or know of someone who does, please contact our secretary Lorraine Corrigan on 0864017301. Our team of volunteers are ready to help.

Longford Team 2000-2020
Congratulations to the 7 Gaels players who have been nominated for the best Longford team of the last 20 years. Well done to Paddy Collum, Paul McCormack, Martin Mulleady, Colin Hannify, Frank McNamee, David Hannify and Padraic Davis on their well deserved nominations. All 7 have been great servants and players to both club and county over the years. Paddy and Padraic have also represented Leinster. Please make sure and get your vote in for our men to make the final 15 before Friday.
Annual Club Mass
The annual Mass for deceased members of Fr. Manning Gaels, St. Vincent’s and St. Helen’s takes place this Sunday, May 17th at 10am. Fr. Hogan will be broadcasting it live on Facebook

Dinner Dance
The Dinner Dance takes place in Lough Rynn Hotel this Saturday January 18th, with presentation of medals to the Intermediate Team and presentations to St Vincent’s and St Helen’s Players. There is also a special presentation to honour the 45th anniversary of the 1975 Intermediate championship winning team. A very special guest will be in attendance to make the presentations. A great night is in store. Tickets cost €35 and are now on sale until today, Wednesday 15th of January and can be purchased from Betty Creegan, Seamus Gallagher, or Lorraine Corrigan. Dinner will be served at 8pm followed with music by Nite Fever. No tickets will be sold on the night

Longford
Best of luck to Paddy Collum and the Longford team and management in the O’Byrne Cup final against Offaly this weekend. Well done on their great win over Dublin on Saturday.
Club Membership
Club Membership for the forthcoming year is now available. The cost is €30 for adults and €15 for students. Membership is required for all playing members and for use of the gym. Membership entitles you to attend monthly club meetings and if received before March 31st, entitles you to a vote at next year’s AGM and entry into the draw for All Ireland tickets. Longford GAA Awards
Well done to Pauric Gill who won the Intermediate Player of the Year award for 2019 at the Longford GAA awards in the Longford Arms at the weekend. Well done to Martin Cassidy who was also nominated for the award. This is a great achievement and the club is very proud of both players.
