Intermediate Championship
Well done to the team and management who came away from Edgeworthstown with a good 2-6 to 1-5 win over Ballymahon in very wet conditions. This result means we play Kenagh in the semi-final on Saturday September 24th. After a slow start where we trailed 0-3 to 0-1, with the point coming from a Martin Cassidy free for a foul on brother Cian, the team kicked into life when Conor Keenan punched to the net after a neat one-two with Martin Cassidy. We lead at the break 1-4 to 0-4 with the other points coming from a Paddy Collum free, Liam Lynch and an excellent strike from Sean Whelan after great defensive play from JP Farley on the stroke of half time. Ballymahon got off to a lightning start on the resumption and went into a one-point lead when they struck for 1-1 within 90 seconds. The team did not panic, however, and got themselves back in front with a pointed free from Martin Cassidy for a foul on himself and an excellent curling effort from the hard-working Cian Cassidy. Martin Cassidy made sure of victory when Sean Whelan cleverly broke a dropping ball from Dean Cosgrave into his path and he slammed it to the net. The team and scorers were as follows: Paddy Collum (0-1,1f), Paul McGee, Cian Brady, Stephen Cosgrave, Kaelum Gill, Emmet Noonan, JP Farley, Liam Lynch (0-1), David Collum, Jamie Nertney, Conor Keenan (1-0), Sean Whelan (0-1), Cian Cassidy (0-1), Martin Cassidy (1-2,2f), Mark Hughes. Subs used: Dean Cosgrave, Podge Gill, Aiden Gray, Derek McCormack

Intermediate Championship
We got back to winning ways on Saturday last with a hard earned 1-9 to 1-5 win over Kenagh in Ardagh. This victory guarantees us a spot in the semi-final with a game to spare. Trailing 0-3 to nil in the opening stages the team started sluggishly in a similar manner to the previous week but got back on level terms with pointed frees from Martin Cassidy for fouls on himself and Pauric Gill and a nice point from play from Conor Keenan. Kenagh struck back with 1-1 and the team looked in bother until the turning point came on the stroke of half time when Keenan played an excellent crossfield ball to the onrushing Jamie Nertney who made no mistake in planting the ball to the back of the net to leave us behind by the minimum of margins at the break 1-4 to 1-3. The Gaels were a different team on the changeover and held Kenagh to just one point while firing over six of our own. The scores from play coming from Cian Cassidy, Pauric Gill and a terrific Mark Hughes effort. Martin Cassidy and Paddy Collum fired over three frees between them for fouls on Gill to secure the two vital points. The final round of the group stage is this Sunday, September 11th at 4.15pm in Edgeworthstown against Ballymahon. Best of luck lads. The team and scorers were as follows: Paddy Collum (0-2,2f), Paul McGee, Cian Brady, Stephen Cosgrave, Mark Hughes (0-1), Emmet Noonan, JP Farley, Liam Lynch, David Collum, Pauric Gill (0-1), Conor Keenan (0-1), Sean Whelan, Cian Cassidy (0-1), Martin Cassidy (0-3,3f), Jamie Nertney (1-0). Subs used: Gary Connell, Podge Gill, Kaelum Gill, Mark Breslin
