The second round of the intermediate championship takes place in Dunbeggan at 7pm on Saturday against Cashel. Best of luck to Fintan, Mick, Graham and the team.
Intermediate Championship
We got the championship off to a winning start when we defeated Ardagh Moydow 2-12 to 1-14 on Sunday evening last in the first round. Gaels started brightly when Paddy Collum planted a penalty after Pauric Gill was brought down and we led 2-4 to 0-6 at the break. We were well on top in the second half when Paddy Collum was adjudged to have stepped over the line after preventing a point. Ardagh Moydow rallied from this, and the lads did well to hold out in the end. Influential substitute Ryan Crowe made a couple of vital interceptions to help secure victory. Thank you to Longford Slashers for having their grounds and facilities in such great condition. The team and scorers were as follows: Paddy Collum (1-1, 0-1f, goal penalty), Jamie Nertney, Cian Brady, Paul McGee, Kaelum Gill (0-1), JP Farley, Dean Cosgrave, Mark Breslin, Sean Whelan, Cian Cassidy (1-3), Conor Keenan (0-2), David Collum, Pauric Gill (0-2), Aiden Gray, Martin Cassidy (0-3, 2f). We play Cashel in the second round this Saturday at 7pm in Dunbeggan. The very best of luck to Fintan, Mick, Graham and the lads.
