The Marquee In Drumlish: We held a “Thank You” night in O’Reilly’s Bar, Drumlish on Friday night last for all our volunteers at this year’s festival. We would like to thank Cathal and the staff for the hospitality and again all those who worked at the Marquee, who gave up their time to make it such a success.
All Ireland Ticket Draw: The draw for the football and hurling All Ireland final tickets was held at the lotto draw on Monday, August 28th in The Porter House, Drumlish. The winners of the hurling tickets were Paraic Brady and Micheál Joyce. The winners of the football tickets were Stephen McDermott and Paul Dowler.
U12/14 Presentation – Huge thanks to all our U12 & U14 Players, their parents, supporters, Coaches, Committee Members and everyone for helping to make our Presentation Evening such a success on a frosty, cold November evening.. there was a great atmosphere with great football from our young ladies and gentlemen. All Ireland Masters: Well done to Francis Noonan and Micheál Kane who were both part of the Longford/Leitrim Masters who defeated Kildare in the All Ireland Plate final on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-11 in Kildare recently.
National Club Draw 2018: Tickets for the National Club Draw are currently available to purchase. If anyone would like to buy a ticket, please contact any member of the senior squad. Tickets cost €10.
AGM: At the meeting of the Executive on Thursday last it was decided that this year’s AGM will be held in Monaduff in early January. The exact date has yet to be decided but will be communicated once known.
St. Stephen’s Day Charity Event: The club will be holding a charity event this St. Stephen’s Day. More details will follow in next week’s notes.
Sports Capital Grant: The club received a major boost during the week when we were recipients of government’s Sports Capital Grant in aid of development works at the grounds in Monaduff. We are extremely appreciative of this and would like to thank all those involved in helping secure the grant.
Sympathy: We would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Claire Bann who was killed in the tragic accident in Drumlish during the week. Our thoughts and prayers are also with those who are injured and we wish them a speedy recovery. We also extend our sympathies to the family and friends of Fr. John Davis who was a frequent visitor to Gaigue over the years. Solas na bhFlaitheas orthu.
