Fr. Manning Gaels 5-05
Ballinamore 3-11
The senior team had a good challenge match against Ballinamore, Seán O’Heslin’s on Sunday morning in Monaduff. The match was 13-a side owing to a shortage of players on Ballinamore’s behalf but nonetheless an open, lively encounter took place. The Gaels lead by just a point at half time after rattling in three goals courtesy of Mark Duffy, a superbly struck David Cassidy penalty and Pauric Gill. The score was 3-1 to 1-6. Despite the heavy rain, both sets of players played some excellent football and Ballinamore looked to have the game won but late goals from Darren Farley and a last second strike from Pauric Gill meant the match ended level: Fr. Manning Gaels 5-5 Ballinamore 3-11. The club would like to thank Frank Niblock for officiating the match and also Lorraine Corrigan for providing the refreshments for both teams afterwards.
