Hall of Fame
Congratulations to Liam Forde on his Hall of Fame award at the Longford GAA Awards last night for his services to ladies football for both club and county. Liam has been a constant since being the first trainer of Éire Óg (the former name for St Helens) when they were founded in 1981 and he has been involved with teams at various grades consistently since. Liam served as Chairman of the club from 1987 until 2003, when he became Club President and as Chairman of the county board from 1992 until 2001 when he became President of the county board. He was part of the Longford management team which won the All Ireland Junior championship in 1997 and was the manager of St Helens which won senior championships in 1990, 1992, 1993, 1994 and again when amalgamated with Rathcline in 1996. He was also the manager for many other league, tournament and underages successes and is still involved with the Gaelic 4 Mothers & Others team. Well done again Liam!
