ACFL Division 1

Our senior team were unlucky not to come away with a point from Michael Fay Park when losing to Longford Slashers on Saturday evening last Two points down at half time, we could have fallen further behind were it not for a number of excellent saves from keeper Aiden Gray (including a brilliant penalty save) but the team battled back to go a point up at the second water break. Slashers rallied after the break to go three in front and we could have equalised in injury time after Pauric Gill was taken down for a penalty. Unfortunately, the penalty was well saved and Slashers held on to win 0-13 to 0-10. The team and scorers were as follows:

Aiden Gray, Cian Murphy, Mark Duffy, Mark Hughes, Aaron McGee, Emmet Noonan (0-1), JP Farley, Nigel Kiernan, Seán Whelan, Conor Keenan, Ryan Crowe, Cian Cassidy, Pauric Gill (0-2), Martin Cassidy (0-5, 5f), Podge Gill (0-2). Subs used: Darren Reilly and Stephen Donnelly. The next round of the league is this Friday evening against Killoe in Monaduff at 8.30pm. Best of luck to the team and management
