When people think of homelessness, they think of those sleeping on the streets in the larger cities in Ireland. People find it hard to believe that people can be struggling to have a home of their own, and be rough sleeping or staying in hostels in Co Longford. Unfortunately, homelessness does exist in the county.
Midlands Simon Community have opened a new support service on Earl St in Longford Town. This service includes 10 fully refurbished apartments that will cater for 10 people with both complex needs and a history of repeat homelessness. The service will give each person their own home, privacy and dignity and it is also more financially sustainable. Residents will also have regular and often daily contact with their Case Worker.
Please support by coming out on the day or by giving a donation/raffle prize to any of the marquee bingo committee.
