ACFL Division 4

The club’s season officially last Saturday in Michael Moran Park when we played Carrickedmond in the first round of the Division 4 league. Ahead by 4 points at half time, we let this lead slip and were eventually beaten 2-12 to 0-12. The team and scorers were as follows:

Cody Lee, Paul McGee, Stephen Cosgrave, Declan Donnelly, Ciaran Cooney, Darren Farley, Tom McGee, Mark Breslin (0-1), Mikie O’Neill, James McCann, Eoin Keane (0-3), Jamie Nertney (0-2), Petie Collum (0-1), Podge Gill (0-2), Stephen Donnelly (0-3)

Subs used:

Philip Kane, Kevin Whelan, Gearoid Nertney, Kevin Whitney and Scott Howe

It is not too often we see a father and son playing alongside each other but that’s what happened in the second half when Gearoid Nertney came in and played alongside his son Jamie. A proud moment for the Nertney household.

Sympathy

Deepest sympathy to Breda Murphy and family on the passing of Breda’s mother Bridie Gray in Killoe recently. Condolences are also extended to the family and friends of Anna Rose McKenna, Drumlish. Solas na bhFlaitheas orthu.
