ACFL Division 2

We were well beaten by Ballymore last Thursday, 2-14 to 0-11. The Division 4 team had a good 1-11 to 1-9 win over Dromard on Saturday. The team and scorers were as follows: Cody Lee, Sean McKenna, Stephen Cosgrave, James O’Neill, Nathan Maher, Ciaran Cooney, Tom McGee, Ryan Crowe (0-5), Mark Breslin (0-1), James McCann, Aiden Gray, Dean Cosgrave (0-1), Orrin Greene, Kevin Whelan (1-4), Padraig O’Neill. Subs used: Eoin Murtagh for James McCann (inj), Gearoid Nertney, Jim Rogers. We wish James McCann a speedy recovery from the nasty shoulder injury he sustained in the early stages of the match. They are out this weekend against Mostrim on Sunday at 2pm in Edgeworthstown. Division 2 takes a break until the end of Longford’s interest in the Tailteann Cup.

Lotto

The lotto draw took place in The ‘98 Bar, Ballinamuck on Monday last, June 5th. The Jackpot was €12,600. Results are currently on the club website and social media and will be published in next week’s notes. Please play through Clubspot and select the Fr Manning Gaels option or buy from any of the usual sellers. Thank you to all who support our lotto.

Longford

Hard luck to Paddy Collum and the Longford team and management on their defeat by Carlow at the weekend. We wish them the best of luck in the preliminary quarter final this weekend.

Golden Jubilee

Congratulations to former club great, Fr. Pat Lennon, who is celebrating 50 years in the priesthood this Sunday. Fr. Pat was a terrific defender not just for the Gaels, but also for Leitrim, who he represented when in Carrick, where he won a county title with Sheemore Gaels.
