Patsy Reilly Semi-Final

The semi-final took place last Friday in Monaduff against Ardagh Moydow. We won on a score-line of 2-11 to 0-7. We led 0-5 to 0-3 at half time with scores coming from Conor Keenan, Pauric Gill (2), Cian Cassidy and Mark Hughes. Sides were soon level on the resumption before two Cian Cassidy frees for fouls on Gill restored the Gaels advantage. The decisive score came when substitute Orrin Greene laid the perfect ball onto Ryan Crowe for a goal and Dean Cosgrave made sure of victory with a well-placed goal soon after. Well done to the team and management on a good performance in difficult circumstances so soon after the disappointment of the previous Sunday. We now await the winners of Rathcline and Kenagh. Speedy recovery to Pauric Gill who got injured in the early stages of the second half. The team was as follows: Paddy Collum, Paul McGee, Cian Brady, Stephen Cosgrave, Kaelum Gill (0-1), JP Farley, Dean Cosgrave (1-0), Sean Whelan, Mark Breslin, David Collum, Conor Keenan (0-1), Pauric Gill (0-2), Mark Hughes (0-2), Cian Cassidy (0-4, 2f, 1m), Kevin Whelan. Subs used: Kevin Whitney, Orrin Greene for P. Gill (inj) Ryan Crowe (1-1), Cian Murphy. The scorers from the championship semi-final the previous weekend were as follows: Cian Cassidy (0-3, 1f), Kevin Whelan (0-2), Martin Cassidy (0-2, 1f), Conor Keenan (0-1), Dean Cosgrave (0-1).

Congratulations

Well done to Declan Nerney on his induction into the Irish Country Music Hall of Fame last week. A well-deserved accolade for Declan, who had one of his earliest gigs competing for the Gaels in Scór in 1971!
