John Joe Sorohan RIP

The club was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of John Joe Sorohan in Limerick recently. John Joe was the steadfast goalkeeper on our 1953 senior championship and senior league winning team. His performances earned him a call up to the senior county panel later in the year. We extend our deepest sympathies to John Joe’s family and friends. Solas na bhFlaitheas air

Longford

Best of luck to Oisin Kane, Sean Gibbons and manager Enda McGahern All Ireland minor quarter-final against Armagh this weekend. Hard luck to Paddy Collum and the Longford team on their defeat by Waterford last Saturday. Well done to Paddy who was acknowledged at county training during the week by Longford GAA for having over 100 appearances for Longford seniors. This is a great achievement, and he is only the fourth clubman to reach this significant milestone, following in the footsteps of such legends as Jimmy Hannify, Frank McNamee and Padraic Davis. Since his debut in 2012, Paddy has now played 126 competitive games for Longford and represented Leinster in the 2016 Railway Cup.
