Intermediate Championship

We were well beaten by Sean Connollys in the final group game on Saturday evening last in Killoe, 1-14 to 1-7. The team started well and led 0-5 to 0-3 after 25 minutes with the scores coming from Conor Keenan, a Jamie Nertney free and three points from the lively Martin Cassidy. However the Connollys took over into the break and were leading 0-7 to 0-5 at the whistle. A Connollys goal early in the second half killed the contest, though we later responded with one of our own when David Collum flicked a long Ryan Crowe ball into the net. Conor Keenan and Martin Casidy rounded off the scoring from a Gaels point of view. The team and scorers were as follows: Paddy Collum, Paul McGee, Cian Brady, Darren Reilly, Aaron Quinn, JP Farley, Kaelum Gill, Mark Breslin, Sean Whelan, David Collum (1-0), Mark Hughes, Jamie Nertney (0-1, 1f), Cian Cassidy, Martin Cassidy (0-4, 1f), Conor Keenan (0-2). Subs: Ryan Crowe, Kevin Whelan, Cathal Quinn. The semi-final takes place in two week’s time.
