Senior Championship: Hard luck to our senior team who exited the senior championship despite their 1-18 to 2-12 victory over St. Brigid’s, Killashee on Saturday evening last. We finished the group on 5 points along with Ballymahon. However, their superior scoring difference of +13 was greater than our scoring difference of +8. We now find ourselves in the unfortunate position of a relegation play off despite having won 2 matches and drawn another. The team and scorers were as follows:
Paddy Collum (0-1, pen), Mickey Kelly, Cian Brady, Emmet Noonan, Eoin Keane (0-5, 4f), Mark Duffy, Nigel Kiernan, Seán Whelan, David Collum (0-1), Kevin Whelan (0-1), Diarmuid Cooney (0-3), Pauric Gill (1-1), Martin Cassidy (0-1), Petie Collum (0-5, 2f), Mark Hughes.
Substitutions used: Dean Cosgrave, Fergal Reilly, Anthony Kane, Ciarán Cooney
ACFL Division 1: We were due to play both Mostrim and Mullinalaghta in the senior league this coming week but both have been postponed until a lter date
Lotto: There was a mistake in last week’s notes, the draw will be held in O’Reilly’s Bar, Drumlish on Monday, August 14th, not the previous Monday. The Jackpot is €7,200. Results will be on the club website when available and will be in next week’s notes. Tickets are available from the usual outlets and from any member of the executive.
