Annual General Meeting: Our AGM was held last Saturday, January 13th in Monaduff. There was a large crowd in attendance which was great to see. Secretary Lorraine Corrigan gave a comprehensive report on the events of the previous year and Treasurer Stephen McDermott outlined the Income & Expenditure for 2017 in his report. Chairman Packie Duffy then expressed his gratitude to the outgoing committee and all those who supported the club in any way during the year. The officers elected for 2018 were as follows:

The club would like to welcome all the new members on board and also express a big thank you to all the committee members who stepped down after their years of hard work and service. The club would also like to wish the new committee all the best for the coming year.

Congratulations to all concerned on their well deserved accolades. Well done also to those who were nominated. The Senior nominees also included Emmett Noonan, Cian Brady and Petie Collum. The U21 nominess also included Timothy Bouvin and Tom McGee.

Packie Duffy – Thank you: At the AGM Packie Duffy announced that after 9 years as chairman he was stepping down. The club would like to sincerely thank Packie for all the tremendous work he has done for Fr. Manning Gaels over the years. Indeed, it must be noted that before Packie took the top seat for the Gaels, he was the St. Vincent’s chairman for the previous 6 years. Packie has done gaelic games in our parish some service and we are all greatly appreciative of this. Go raibh míle maith agat.

Club Membership: Club membership is now available for the coming year. The fee is €30 for Adults and €15 for Students. Please contact Registrar Bridie Reilly if you would like to become a member.

Lotto: The Lotto draw was held last Monday, January 8th in The ‘98 Bar, Ballinamuck. The Jackpot was €9,200. The numbers drawn were as follows:

Scór: Senior Scór takes place in Ardagh Community Centre on Friday 9th February at 7:30pm. Competitions in Scór include: Rince Foirne – Figure Dancing; Amhránaíocht Aonair – Solo Singing; Aithriseoireacht / Scéaltaíocht – Recitation; Bailéad Ghrúpa – Ballad Group; Léiriú Stáitse – Sketch; Ceol Uirlise – Instrumental Music; Rince Seit – Set Dancing; Rince Sean Nós – Sean Nós Dancing. If anyone is interested in competing or knows of anyone who would be interested in competing this year please contact Lorraine Corrigan as soon as possible. The club has a proud history in this competition and it would be great if we could get back competing in as many sections as possible.

Longford Seniors: Hard luck to Paddy Collum, Pauric Gill and the Longford squad on their defeat to Meath after a free kick shootout in the O’Byrne Cup semi final on Sunday last.

National Club Draw 2018: Tickets for the National Club Draw are currently available to purchase. If anyone would like to buy a ticket, please contact any member of the senior squad. Tickets cost €10. There are many great prizes to be won such as a new Renault Dynamique, a travel voucher worth €2,000 and All Ireland Hurling & Football final packages.

Sympathy: We would like to express our sincere condolences to the Dillon Family, Ballinamuck on the recent passing of Declan in New York. We would also like to extend our sympathies to the family and friends of Peter Hagan, Pilltown, Kilkenny (formerly of Kilnashee), Michael Courtney, Cashel (formerly of Cloonaugh) and Brigid Eddiford (née Kennedy, formerly of Currabawn) who all passed away recently.
