U-21 Championship: Our U-21 team were in action in the first round of the championship last Saturday evening in Monaduff against Granard/Ballymore. We lead at the break 0-7 to 1-03. We conceeded a goal at the start of the match and playe some nice football to get ourselves back into the match. Unfortuntely two quick goals in the second half for Granard proved too much and we fell short in the end on a score line of 0-13 to 3-9.

The team and scorers were as follows:

Michael Courtney, Timmy Bouvin, Leon McKeon, Tom McGee (0-1), Nigel Kiernan, Kevin Whitney, Jonathan Connell, Mark Hughes, Aaron McGee (0-1), Cian Cassidy (0-8, 4f), Ryan Crowe (0-1), Paul Donnelly (0-1), Ronan Corr

Substitutions used: Conor Keenan (0-1), Brian O’Connor.

It was great to see Brian O’Connor back out in action having sustained a very bad leg injury earlier in the year. The next round is against Mullinalaghta which is a must win game if we are to have any chance of qualifying. Time and date is to be confirmed.

Lotto: The draw was held in The ‘98 Bar, Ballinamuck on Monday last, October 9th. The Jackpot was €8,000. Results are currently available on the club website and will be in next week’s notes. Tickets are available from the usual outlets and from any member of the executive.

Congratulations: Well done to clubmen Padraic Davis, Pete McWade and Ian Higgins who helped guide Mohill to their second Leitrim senior championship title in 3 years courtesy of a 0-14 to 0-11 victory over Glencar-Manorhamilton. We wish the lads all the best in their preparations for the Connacht club championship and also the upcoming League final. Everyone in the club is extremely proud of the men’s achievements.

County Championship: Well done to Mullinalaghta on winning the county title at the weekend and commiserations to Abbeylara. We would like to wish Mullinalaghta the best of luck in the Leinster club championship.

Get Well Soon: Everyone at Fr. Manning Gaels would like to wish our great club man Pat Donnelly a speedy recovery after an unfortunate accident during the week. We hope to see you out and about again soon.
