Marquee in Drumlish – August 18th to 21st Our 8th Annual Marquee in Drumlish Festival was held last weekend and we would like to thank everyone involved for helping make it such a tremendous success. Thank you to the artists who provided such wonderful entertainment on each of the 4 nights. On Friday we had Seán Rooney, State Lights, Chasing Abbey and DJ Fergal D’Arcy. On Saturday night we had Robert Mizzell and Derek Ryan. On Sunday we had Small Time Thieves (aka Top Shelf), The Blizzards and The Aftermath/Cronin and on Monday it was the Declan Nerney night with many special guests including Big Tom, Una Healy, Jimmy Buckley, Mick Flavin, Dominic/Barry Kirwan, John McNicholl, Philomena Begley, Séamus Moore and Trudi Lawlor.  Thank you to the Gray family for the use of the Old School site. Thank you to the many volunteers who worked in the preparation of the site and over the course of the weekend. There were many early starts and late finishes but your hard work paid off and is greatly appreciated. Thanks to all those who helped run the Monster Bingo in Ballinamuck on Sunday and to those who ran the youth event in the Marquee on Saturday afternoon. Thanks to the Order of Malta, Civil Defence and An Garda Síochána for their tireless work also.

A word of thanks goes to Mark Cunningham at Cunningham Design and Planning Chartered Engineers for his work in helping us secure our licence for this year’s festival. Thank you also to O’Reilly’s Bar, Drumlish who were our licencing partner. Thank you to Mike and Martin Mulleady at Mulleady Properties who sponsored the festival this year.

Finally, a massive thank you to all those who came from near and far to attend the Festival. We are sure you all had an enjoyable weekend and we are looking forward to seeing you all back in Drumlish next year. We are extremely grateful to the people of Drumlish/Ballinamuck for their continued support in running the festival. Without this kind of support from the people of the community it would be impossible for us to stage such an event. Go raibh míle maith agaibh go léir.
